Sexual abuse has been present in the Catholic Church for decades, including many of the dioceses in California. To date, hundreds of priests have been accused of child sexual abuse or sexual misconduct across the state of California. It notes a report made in 2018 of incidents 1986-1992, and that Altamirano Torres left the archdiocese in 1990.
Casey	Edward J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abusing three minors 1974-79, while assigned to Damien Boys High School in LaVerne. In 2004 the L.A. archdiocese counted three accusers. Named in at least one civil suit. Laicized, per the L.A. archdiocese’s list in 12/21.
Babilonia	Delfin	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	From Lucena City, Philippines. Named publicly as accused by the Los Angeles archdiocese on its updated list 12/6/18. Noted to have received a report in 2010 of incident(s) in 1962, and that Babilonia left the archdiocese in 1963.
Moholy	John Ralph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Jesuits West Province in its list 12/7/2018. It notes a report in 2003 of the sexual abuse of a minor in 1960. Assigned 1949-1964 to Loyola University in Los Angeles. Died 11/15/1997.
Poon	Stanislaus	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles archdiocese’s updated list 12/6/18. Report noted in 2013 of incidents estimated to have allegedly occurred in 1977. Poon was incardinated into the Oakland diocese in 1982, and retired in 1996.
Robinson	James Richard	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Multiple alleged victims in the UK, beginning when Robinson was in seminary. The first complaint was reportedly made in 1973. Transferred suddenly in 1986 from archdiocese of Birmingham (UK) to L.A. archdiocese. Reportedly worked in five LA parishes 1986-93.
Salinas	Gabriel	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	From Spain. First Augustinian Father to come to the U.S. Worked in Nebraska 1917-48. Accused of abuse of a minor 1958-60 at Cristo Rey in Los Angeles archdiocese. Died 11/18/72. Personnel file released 09/09/13.
Ahumada	Arturo Federico	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Convicted	Deacon who provided pornographic material to two boys and misdemeanor sexual battery on one of them was sentenced to one year in county jail and five years felony probation.
Abaya	Rubin	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	In 1984, a 16-year-old girl filed civil suits against seven Filipino priests in Los Angeles for sexually abusing her. One of the priests fathered the girl’s child, who received $500K in a 2007 settlement.
Aguilar-Rivera	Nicolas	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Charged	Aguilar was accused of abusing at least two boys in the U.S. Archdiocese of Los Angeles, but fled to Mexico where he abused at least 26 boys in 10 months. He was convicted in 2003 but not sentenced. Aguilar was laicized in 2009, and 11 claims were settled in 2014. Two brothers filed a suit in 2014, and their claim was settled in 2015.
Albalaa	Pierre	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Maronite Rite priest, suspended from ministry in 5/18, due to a credible allegation of sexual abuse of a minor in 2004.
Anderson	David E.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused on the archdiocese’s updated list 12/6/18. Report to archdiocese in 2015 of incidents alleged to have occurred 1987-92. Died in 2013.
Alzugaray	Joseph F.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Bishop Sued 2004 for defamation of character and malicious prosecution, reopened investigation in 2008, retired 10/31/11, died 01/31/14. Noted to have been accused of abuse 1967-93 in L.A.
Anderson	Roger	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse from 1981-83 at Old Mission Santa Ines. In its 2004 report, L.A. archdiocese counts two accusers. Named in at least one civil suit. Per the archdiocese’s list in 12/21, Anderson is deceased.
Antlitz	Aloysius (Luis William)	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Luis William Antlitz, a Franciscan friar, was accused of sexual abuse of minors between 1934 and 1966. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Alexandria LA in 1966.
Arias	Andreas	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Extern priest from Mexico. Accused in a civil lawsuit of abuse in 1936 in Lompoc CA.
Austin	Edmund	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	The Franciscans were named as abusers in a civil suit filed in 8/08, which alleged that abuse took place in the 1970s.
Arzube	Juan	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Arzube was accused of abuse of an 11-year-old boy while pastor at St. Alphonsus parish in East Los Angeles. He denied the allegations.
Balak	Frederick R.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Fred Balak was accused of abuse of one minor during 1967-68, while assigned to St. Augustine’s in Culver City.
Balbin	Victor	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Accused of abuse of a teenage girl. L.A. archdiocese counted one accuser in its 2004 report. Extern priest from the Philippines.
Baker	Michael Stephen	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Convicted	Baker was accused of sexually abusing two boys, told Cardinal Mahony in 1986, returned to ministry in nine more parishes, continued to abuse many more children, was laicized in 2000, and included in a $660M settlement in 2007. Baker pleaded guilty to abuse of two boys, was sentenced to 10 years and 4 months in prison, released on parole, was arrested for probation violations, and settled with 4 in 3/2013 for $9.9M.
Baldonado	Felipe	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans on its list 5/31/2019, and included on the Las Cruces diocese’s list 6/24/2019.
Barmasse	Kevin P.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Barmasse was sued in 2003 and accused of abuse from 1982-1988. A massive $660M settlement was reached in 2007 for five claiming abuse by Barmasse.
Bauer	John	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Convicted	Ordained for the Diocese of Helena, MT, left active priesthood in 1970, taught Social Work classes at Montana State University 1970-1981, opened a sex shop/adult book store in 1981, and another in Spokane in 1981.
Bautista	Gaspar	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	From Mexico, incardinated into the Diocese of Fresno CA in 2004. Placed on leave in 2016 due to allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor, but case closed by the Vatican’s CDF in 2018.
Berumen	Matthias A.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse from 1985-1988. Per L.A. archdiocese in 2004, there was one accuser claiming abuse in 1990. Also named in a civil suit. Per the archdiocese’s list in 12/21L, Berumen was laicized.
Bismonte	Honesto Bayranta	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Guilty plea	Bismonte, from the Philippines, was arrested in 2002 for abuse of two sisters, ages 12 and 8, and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery in 2003. He received two years probation.
Berbena	Christopher	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Accused of abuse in 1980, placed on leave in 2006, returned to active ministry in 2008 after the archdiocese could not substantiate the accusation.
Bond	Robert	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly by the archdiocese as accused on it’s list updated 12/6/18. Allegations of abuse in the 1970s reported to the archdiocese in 2010. Noted to have died in 2007.
Boley	Robert	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Boley was accused of assaulting a young girl in the early 1980s and left his job as parochial vicar in 2006. Boley was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in the 1980s at St. Cyril’s Parish School in Chicago, including rape. He was settled in 6/2022.
Bouska	Jerome	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Parish priest, high school chaplain. Held chancery positions 1963-2009. Died 11/20/10. Name quietly added, along with 23 others, to the Los Angeles archdiocese’s Final Addendum posted on its website 1/31/13.
Boyer	Leland	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Sued in 2003, accused of abusing 1973-82, retired 1/15/94, died 1/14/03, personnel file revealed three complaints 1990-2002, placed on restricted ministry in 1995, three more complainants known.
Rivas	Roy	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Rivas was named publicly as accused by the Franciscans Santa Barbara Province in 11/2023.
Brennan	John Lawrence	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Monsignor. Accused of abuse occurring1954-56. Died in 1983. One accuser, per L.A. archdiocese in 2004.
	Mark	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Sued 2003. Accused of abuse 1979-83. Alleged victim died by suicide.
Brown	Bernard (Lawrence Maria)	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Accused of abusing a minor 1955-1956. Sued, $10M settlement with Carmelites, Los Angeles Archdiocese and 7 people.
Buckley	Michael Daniel	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Buckley was accused of abuse occurring 1965-75. His files were released as part of a 2007 settlement.
Burt	Ronald Francis	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Paulist order on its list 3/8/19. It notes allegations reported in in 1986 and 2018 of abuse at Good Shepherd Parish in New York 1973-79. Burt died 10/24/94.
Cabaong	Honorato	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Extern priest from the Philippines, sued in 1984, settled for $500K as part of $660M settlement in 2007.
Byrom	Ed	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Ed Byron, a pre-novitiate candidate, left the program in 1988 and was accused of abusing at least one minor at Saint Anthony Seminary.
Cabot	Samuel Charles	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Accused of abusing two young girls, who were cousins, in 1981-1985. Removed from public ministry in 2002, and may be the perpetrator in an 8/2008 civil suit.
Cairns	James	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Accused of abuse occurring 1971-1973. Listed on the Vincentians list of credibly accused in 11/2020.
Caffoe	Lynn Richard	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Caffoe sexually abused altar boys in at least 15 parishes, was removed from the priesthood in 1991 and treated at St. Luke’s Institute. He died in 2009.
Carey	Cleve W.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse between 1963-66. L.A. archdiocese counts two accusers ion its 2004 report. Named in at least one civil suit. Retired in 1976; died 5/31/88. His “personnel file” proffer was released in 1/13.
Calonge	Felix (Raymond)	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Accused of sexual abuse of a minor in 1965. Named publicly as accused on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list 5/31/2019.
Cano	Juan	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Cano was placed on leave in 1/2018 pending an investigation by the Los Angeles Archdiocese and City Attorney after reports that he engaged in “inappropriate contact” with several women, including a minor, at his parish.
Carroll	Michael J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Carroll was a priest who served at several parishes in Southern California. He was sued in 2003 and remained in ministry.
Carriere	David	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	The Santa Barbara Province Franciscans List notes the sexual abuse of a minor 1977-1979, reported in 2004 and 2006. Carrier died in 2000.
Casey	John Joseph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse 1944-1945 in at least one civil suit. Died in 2000, age 96.
Hernandez	Raul Carvajal	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Carvajal Hernandez, from Guayaquil, Ecuador, was named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles archdiocese’s updated list 12/6/18. He left the archdiocese in 1982.
Casey	Michael Joseph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the archdiocese on its updated list 12/6/18. Allegations noted to have been received in 2010 of abuse in the 1960s. Casey died 3/24/78.
Castellanos-Morfin	Gildardo	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Extern priest from Mexico. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on its list in 12/22. Noted to be deceased.Appears to have been assigned to the archdiocese approximately 1982-86.
Cavalli	Vincent V.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse occurring 1966-68. Per L.A. archdiocese in 2004, there was one accuser. Named in at least one civil suit.
Cavagnaro	Camillus Charles	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	The Franciscans’ Santa Barbara Province named Cavagnaro publicly as accused of sexual abuse of a minor in 1962-1965. He was also listed as credibly accused in the dioceses of Las Cruces, Gallup, and Tucson.
Castro	Willebaldo	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Extern priest from Mexico, accused of abusing a 16 year old boy, moved to another parish, accused of molesting another minor, arrested for approaching a security guard in a store bathroom, apparently for sex.
Chandler	David Paul	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Chandler was named as accused by the Los Angeles archdiocese in 2008 and included on the Paulists’ list of credibly accused in 2019.
Chumik	Gerald T.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Chumik was accused of forcing a boy at ages 12 and 15 to perform oral sex during the 1970s in Canada. He was living in a Franciscan retirement home in Santa Barbara CA for many years.
Chong	Damien	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Name quietly added to the Los Angeles archdiocese’s Final Addendum posted on its website 1/31/2013. Accused of abusing a boy at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino CA, 1984-1986, and of plying him with alcohol.
Cimmarrusti	Mario	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Minor seminary faculty member, parish priest, and mental health professional who sexually abused hundreds of boys. Cimmarrusti was accused of abuse of boys at St. Anthony Minor Seminary in Santa Barbara. He is said to have used embarrassment, humiliation and threats, and would then pray for his victims while pressing their faces into his groin. The Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list notes allegations of sexual abuse of minors from 1962-1969.
Coffield	John V.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abusing a boy at Dolores Mission in Los Angeles 1960-62, but not on diocesan list of abusers. Died 2/2/05 in California.
Colosimo	Eugene J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	A Jesuit priest was named publicly as accused of sexual abuse of a minor in 1957-1959. He taught at Jesuit high schools in San Jose CA, Phoenix AZ, Santa Barbara CA, and Los Angeles CA.
Cook	Ozias Bailey	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Named publicly by the Los Angeles archdiocese on its updated list 12/6/18. Allegations reported in 2010 of incidents in 1974 or 1975. Cook died in 1984.
Corcoles	Candido	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Name quietly added, along with 23 others, to the Los Angeles archdiocese’s Final Addendum posted on its website 1/31/13. Extern priest.
Corral	Andres S.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Accused of abuse in 1981. The L.A. archdiocese counted one accuser in its 2004 report. Extern priest from Philippines working in Archdiocese.

Cronin	Sean	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	From Ireland, arrived in L.A. archdiocese in 1972, sued in 2003, accused of abuse between 1972-80, laicized 1/26/11.
Cruces	Angel	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Sued in 1983, accused of abuse of 1 girl, died in 1996. Personnel files released 1/13.
Cuevas	Jose Luis	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Convicted	Former Combonian Missionary. Arrested in Mexico in 2012, charged with 8 misdemeanors plus one felony count involving lewd acts with a child, sentenced to 5 years’ probation, community service, sex offender counseling and to register as sex offender.
Cunningham	Christopher John	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Charged	Cunningham was removed from his parish in 3/2004, no explanation was given, sent to another parish by Cardinal Mahony, included on a list of credibly accused quietly posted on the archdiocese’s website in 1/2013, and was accused of abusing four boys, ages 10-15, in the mid-1990s-early 2000s.
Daley	Wallace J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Accused of abuse of a boy, excardinated from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1976, and named in at least one civil suit which settled in 2006.
Dawson	John H.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Placed on sick leave in 1993 after allegations, sent to Paracletes for treatment, on inactive leave in 1995, named in at least one lawsuit.
Deady	John P.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused 4/23/02 of sexually abusing one person 1956-57. Complainant filed suit. Deady had served as Navy chaplain 1943-46. Died 3/7/89.
DeFore	Donald	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Per the L.A. archdiocese’s report in 2004, DeFore was accused of abusing a minor 1977-78.
Day	Declan	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Day was named in one or more lawsuits with claims of child sexual abuse, but the allegations were still under investigation. No evidence found that he was a priest.
DeJonghe	Harold J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Sued in 2003. Accused of abusing a minor 1980-82. Died in 1998. Archdiocese said it investigated and deemed allegations unfounded.
Peri	Joseph B. Di	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Accused of abuse of student at Chaminade High School in Canoga Park in 1977-78, died in 2007 and was included on the Newark archdiocese’s list 2/13/19.
Devaney	James	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused in a lawsuit of abusing a minor 1968-70. Per the Los Angeles archdiocese’s list in 12/21, Devaney is deceased.
DeLisle	Harold F.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	DeLisle was assigned to St. Genevieve’s in Van Nuys, St. Andrew’s in Pasadena 1960-65, Ss. Peter and Paul in Wilmington 1965-68, St. Linus in Norwalk 1969-70, St. Athanasius in Long Beach 1970-75, St. Didacus in Sylmar 1975-78 and Our Lady of Grace in Encino 1978-79.
Diamond	William L.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Publicly named as accused on the Los Angeles archdiocese’s updated list 12/6/18. Allegations received in 2016 of incidents 1965-74. Diamond died 9/11/82.
Dittmar	Frederick	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Sued. Accused of abuse.

Doherty	Roger J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	The Los Angeles archdiocese named Doherty as accused in 2014 of an incident in 1962.
Doan	Michael Son Trong	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Alleged to have abused a minor in 1999, but not a member of the Redemptorist Order.
Diesta	Arwyn N.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Extern priest from Philippines accused of abuse of several students. Cardinal Mahony wrote to Diesta’s Bishop in Philippines and to the Vatican and informed US Military, LA Police and authorities in Philippines.
Dober	Edward J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Dober was accused of improperly hugging a boy in 1990-91, but was deemed unfounded by the archdiocese and settled with 44 others in 2003.
Dolan	James E.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse of a minor in 1962. Died in 1974. Named in a civil suit.
Dove	Thomas J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Dove was named publicly as accused by the Los Angeles archdiocese on its list updated 12/6/2018. He was removed from ministry in 2014, living at a Paulist residence in San Francisco, and died in 10/2020.
Dowd	Francis Leo	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused in a 12/03 civil suit of abuse of a girl 1963-64. Not indexed in the Official Catholic Directory after 1982. Deceased.
DuFour	Donald J.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	DuFour was accused of abuse occurring 1977-79 while assigned to Rancho San Antonio Boys Home in Chatsworth, CA. He was named in a civil suit.
Duggan	Albert Joseph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Duggan was accused of sexually abusing a boy in 1969 at St. Frances in Azusa, CA. He was also accused of abusing a boy in 1963-67 at same parish.
Dunne	Joseph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Accused	Per archdiocese in 2004, Dunne was accused of abuse of one person in 1993. Law enforcement did not press charges, and Dunne may have returned to Scotland.
Duplessis	Donald M.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Per the L.A. archdiocese’s report in 2005, Duplessis (at times spelled Duplessius) was accused by one person of abuse occurring 1968-70, while assigned to Servite High School in Anaheim. Lawsuit filed. Reportedly died in 2018.

Garcia	Richard Francis	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Complaint received in 2002 that Garcia abused a male between 1961-1963. Left the priesthood in 1967.
Garcia	Peter Edward	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Settled	Monsignor Garcia was on leave 1984-2006, laicized 1/3/2006, and died 7/29/2009. He was accused of abusing at least 12 minors between 1961 and 1983, and was included in a 2004 report and a 2007 settlement with 508 plaintiffs.
Geilenfeld	Michael	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Charged	Brother of the Missionaries of Charity, entering in 1974, founded St. Joseph’s orphanage for boys in Port-au-Prince in 1985. The boys performed as a dance troupe for fundraisers. Allegations first surfaced publicly in 12/1995, when 8 boys on tour told authorities that Geilenfeld sexually and physically abused them at the orphanage. Cyrus Sibert broke the story of allegations against Geilenfeld in 2011 and Paul Kendrick got involved. Geilenfeld was arrested in 2014 and spent a year in jail. He sued Kendrick for defamation and settled in 2019 for $3M. Arrested in Denver CO 1/22/24, pleaded not guilty in Miami federal court 2/16/2024, and was ordered to be held in federal prison while awaiting trial.

Lovell	Lawrence Joseph	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Convicted	Convicted in 2004 for abuse of several boys, laicized in 1992, and married a woman with three boys in 1995. Civil suits filed in 1996 and in 12/2003, limited personnel files released in 1/2013, lawsuit settled in 2020 for $1.9M, and included on the Phoenix diocese’s list 10/29/2019. Lovell was released from prison in 5/2021 and laicized in 12/2021. He was included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report.

Was assigned to a Mater Dolorosa Monastery in Sierra Madre, CA, 1953-1973, and started a non-profit in 1963, establishing and supporting orphanages and schools in Baja CA. Suspected of child sexual abuse in Detroit MI, in the 1940s, and in the 1960s and early 1970s. Several other allegations later received of abuse occurring 1953-1973.

A man had alleged in 2002 abuse as a boy by Villa, and in 2008 the archbishop of Guadalajara refused to collaborate in the investigation of an allegation.
Villaroya	Ernesto Corral	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Monsignor was an extern priest from Philippines working in the L.A. archdiocese without permission. He was moved to Dallas diocese in 1996 where he was allowed ministry.
Vita	William S.	Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA	Sued	Accused of abuse of a minor 1947-53, per archdiocesan report addendum. Named in a civil suit. Died in 1964.

Pech	Theodore Baquedano	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Baquedano Pech was a priest of the Archdiocese of Yucatan, Mexico, assigned in the Archdiocese of San Francisco CA 1967-1975. A 30-year-old woman reported him sexually abusing her for several years, beginning when she was 11.
Billante	Salvatore	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Guilty plea	Billante abused as many as 25 boys from 1969-1989, was sentenced to eight years’ prison in 1989, released in 1994, and registered as a sex offender.
Bongila	Jean-Pierre	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Accused of sexually abusing a girl 1996-2000, Bongila was cleared in 2006 and began work as the founding director of the International Leadership Program at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis MN in 2006.
Bravo	Roberto	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Bravo was accused of abuse of six teenage girls in 1999, transferred to Utah, and then to San Francisco. He was placed on the Holy Name Province Domincans’ list in 2021.
Carter	Daniel E.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	A woman filed a police report accusing Carter of sexually abusing her when she was an 8-year-old student at Notre Dame des Victoires School in the late 1970s. The archdiocese found the allegations inconclusive and allowed Carter to remain active.
Cloutier	Edmond G.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Ordained for the Diocese of Portland, ME, accused of sexually abusing four boys at Star of the Sea in San Francisco, removed/retired 12/31/1980, died 4/9/2003.
Cunha	Arthur Manuel	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Convicted	Cunha was arrested for molesting two boys in 1986 and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 4 months at a counseling center. At least three civil suits were filed.
Dabbene	Bernard	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Convicted	In 1959 a 9th grade boy reported to Dabbene’s superior that Dabbene had molested him twice. In 1971 allegations were reported to the Diocese of Oakland, and in 2000 Dabbene was arrested for molesting a 17-year-old boy.
Danielson	Harold	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Associate pastor at Saints Peter and Paul parish denied allegations of child sex abuse in 2005.
Durkin	Charles J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Durkin retired in 2002, just after the San Francisco D.A.’s office requested church records related to years of allegations of abuse. He died in 2006.
Ellis	Hal	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Ellis was accused of abuse by at least two priests at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center, a retirement home for priests.
Nguyen	Linh Tien	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	A boy was sexually abused by Nguyen from 2005-2008. He was placed on leave in 10/2022 and reinstated two months later.
Gemmet	Robert J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Accused of repeatedly sexually abusing an altar boy, beginning when the boy was age 10 in 1967. He was assigned to St. Timothy in San Mateo and St. Christopher in San Jose and St. Mary in Gilroy.
Geary	Elwood F.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Geary was accused of sexually abusing a boy in 1968 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles in San Jose. He was the parish’s founding pastor.
Ghiorso	David A.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	The Archdiocese announced that Ghiorso had been accused of sexual abuse of a minor 30-40 years previously, and placed him on leave pending investigation. Three suits were filed by 6/23/2022.
Greenlaw	Martin F.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Accused in a 2022 lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy, age 8, in the 1980s. Greenlaw pleaded guilty in the mid-1990s to embezzling from the church. He died in 2018.
Harriman	Michael D.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Monsignor sued under the CA Child Victims Act, but the review board did not substantiate the claim.
Heaney	John P.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Indicted	A former senior chaplain for the San Francisco Police Department was placed on leave after allegations that he abused two brothers.
Ingels	Gregory G.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Charged	Ingels was a well-known church legal scholar who was accused of having oral sex with a 15-year-old boy. He was placed on leave in 2002 and was later charged with sexual misconduct.
Ivey	Frank	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Named publicly as credibly accused by the St. Barbara Province Franciscans in 9/2020, and dismissed in 2016.
Keegan	Austin Peter	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Ordained for San Francisco, moved to Santa Rosa diocese, stripped of duties by the San Francisco Archdiocese in 1982, moved to Baja Mexico, found there by a news crew in 1994, indicted in 2002, fled to Mexico, charged with abuse of 75 children, charges dropped in 2003.
Kavanaugh	John P.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	A 53-year-old man claimed Kavanaugh sexually abused him over three years, beginning when he was age 7. He told two nuns and his teacher, but there was no action taken.
Keohane	Daniel T.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Koehane was placed on administrative leave in 3/2011 after an old allegation surfaced. He denied the allegation.
Leach	Jerome	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Arrested	Leach was accused of molesting an altar boy in 1976, but the charges were dropped because of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

Lynch	John A.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Accused in a lawsuit[s] between 2020-2022 of child sexual abuse. Died in 1961. Longtime pastor of St. Teresa’s in San Francisco.
McCrillis	Philip E.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Two sisters filed suit against McCrillis in 2004 alleging that he had abused them and had a sexual relationship with their divorced mother in the 1960s. They won a low six-figure settlement.
Myers	William S.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	After allegations of boundary violations with a 17-year-old boy, Father was removed from St. Raymond’s in Menlo Park and was in treatment for sexual addiction to adults.
Moriarty	John	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Moriarty was accused of abusing a 17-year-old boy at the Christian Brothers Retreat House at St. Helena CA, where he was assigned 1974-1978. He died 5/9/2013 at Mt. La Salle.
Murnig	Guy Anthony	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Accused by two women of sexually abusing them when they were high school students, left the priesthood in 1978, and was laicized by Pope John Paul II.
O’Connor	John J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	In 2002, O’Connor was placed on leave by the San Francisco archdiocese after a recent allegation of improper contact with a boy.
O’Shea	Patrick J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Charged	Monsignor O’Shea was criminally charged for abuse of at least nine boys in the 1960-1980, but the charges were dismissed. He was arrested in 2002 for abuse of a boy, and convicted of theft of over $200K from the Archdiocese.
Pacheco	Danilo	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Pacheco was accused of molestation at two different Catholic high schools in Southern California. He also worked in the Oakland diocese. Died 7/25/2005.
Presenti	Richard P.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	Presenti admitted to abusing a 14-year-old boy in 1973, and was kept in active ministry. He was sued by three men alleging abuse as teenagers, and was included on the Oakland diocese’s list in 2019.
Riley	Miles O’Brien	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Riley, a well-known author and actor, was accused of having consensual contact short of intercourse with a female parishioner in the early 1970s.
Sandholdt	Christian	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Sandholdt was accused of sexual abuse of minors and died by suicide in 1979. He was involved with the charismatic movement and worked with teenagers.
Scanlon	Francis Joseph	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Sued	A lawsuit was filed in 2020 against Scanlon for sexually abusing an altar boy at St. Andrew’s in Oakland. The abuse allegedly occurred numerous times and included forced oral sex and sodomy.

Superiaso	Jose	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Convicted	Ordained in the Philippines, arrived in the US in 1989, and was arrested in 2003 on charges of abuse of a girl, ages 12-13, in CA 1994-1995.
Trainor	Henry J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	Trainor was placed on leave in summer 2002 from his position as chaplain at Lagunda Honda Hospital, and was suspended in 2002 after prosecutors were given information about the allegations.
Tubbs	Leo Donald	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Accused	A Dominican priest was accused of non-genital touching over clothing of a 14- to 17-year-old boy in the mid-1980s in Oregon. He was removed from public ministry in 1992 and died in 2021.
Handel	Robert M. Van	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Convicted	Van Handel was the founding director of Santa Barbara Boys’ Choir and principal of St. Anthony’s Seminary High School. He was admitted to his pedophilic behavior to his Provincial in 1992, sent to treatment, and was sentenced to eight years in prison for abuse of one student.
Walsh	Milton T.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Indicted	Accused in 1984 of abuse of a 13-year-old boy, Walsh was heallowed to remain in active ministry until 8/2002, when criminal charges were dropped after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding the statute of limitations.
Yost	Peter J.	Archdiocese of San Francisco CA	Settled	Yost was accused of inappropriate physical contact with a boy, about age 12, in the early 1960s. He was judged not to be a danger to children by a clinical professor of psychiatry.
Darmady	Francis X.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Named publicly as credibly accused by the Fresno diocese on its list in 2021. Noted to have been assigned to St. Alphonsus in Fresno 1936-38. He died 3/27/55 in his native St. Louis. (Name on Fresno list misspelled “Darmaddy.”)
Angelino	Henry F.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Arrested	In 1952, Angelino was arrested and charged with two counts of immoral conduct with a boy, and admitted to “improper conduct” with two boys for over more than a year. He died in 1986.
Boyle	John J.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Ordained for the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno. Died in 1987. Named as credibly accused by the Fresno diocese on its list in 8/21.
Bradley	John A.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	A woman filed suit against a priest who abused her while she was pregnant in the early 1960s. He is not indexed in the Catholic Directory after 1970.
Brown	Tod David	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	A man came forward to allege abuse by Bishop Baker in 1965 when he was approximately 12 years old. Bishop Baker admitted to the abuse and the church had investigated.
Ceniza	Hermy Dave O.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	A civil lawsuit was filed in 4/10 against Ceniza, who was ordained for the Archdiocese of Davao, Philippines. The suit alleges fraud on the part of the diocese.
Chavez	Gerald F.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Named publicly as credibly accused by the Fresno diocese on its list in 8/21. Per his obituary, Chavez was placed on permanent medical leave of absence in 2017. He died in 2020.

Diaz	Raul	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Assigned to St. Catherine’s in Dinuba when placed on leave in 5/19 during an investigation of allegations of the sexual abuse of minors. Diocese informed by law enforcement.
Dodgson	William C.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	Dodgson was a Philadelphia priest until his transfer in 1958 to Fresno CA. He was arrested in 1955 for fraud, and resurfaced as an active priest in 1958 in the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno.
Esquivel	John	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	Esquivel was accused of sexually abusing a 17- or 18-year-old girl in the mid-1980s at St. Joseph’s in Bakersfield. He was suspended for a few months during investigation, and remained in active ministry in 1/20.
Farrell	Thomas	Diocese of Fresno CA	Indicted	Thomas Farrell was named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese of Fresno on its list in 2021, and was noted to have left the diocese in 1945. He died in 1962 at the Servants of the Paraclete’s Via Coeli.
Flores	Miguel	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	A 16-year-old girl accused a priest from Guadalajara, Mexico of sexual assault in 2002. He was acquitted by jury and returned to active ministry, but his case was reopened in 2019 after new information deemed credible.
Tambourin	Sauveur	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Sam Tambourin was ordained for the Diocese of Tarbes-Lourdes, France, incardinated into the Diocese of Fresno in 1971, and died in 1994. He was a US Navy chaplain for 20 years.
Gabriel	Benjamin S.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	Gabriel was accused of abusing a boy at St. Jude’s in Earlimart for two years in the mid-1970s. He died in 1986.
Gamel	Robert	Diocese of Fresno CA	Indicted	Removed 8/15/14, investigated by police for alleged internet-related sex crimes involving at least one teenage boy. Pleaded no contest to possessing child porn, sentenced to 11 months in jail and 4 years probation, ordered to register as a sex offender, released from jail in 12/16.
Garcia	Louis Aloysius	Diocese of Fresno CA	Convicted	Accused of abusing several developmentally disabled patients at Porterville State Hospital, Garcia was sentenced to 6 years in 1983 and listed on California sex offender registry.
Gaynor	John J.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese of Fresno on its list in 8/21. His faculties were revoked five years after his 1935 ordination. He reportedly left the diocese in 1941 without permission and died in 1953.
Forunda	Jorge de Jesus Gomez	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Jorge Gomez was ordained in Guatemala and worked as an extern priest in the Diocese of Fresno.
Gomez	Ramon Salvador	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Gomez was named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese of San Antonio on its list 1/31/2019. He was dismissed from the San Antonio diocese after law enforcement from California informed the archdiocese that he was accused of child sex abuse in that state.
Harrison	Craig F.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Monsignor Harrison was suspended in 4/19 for inappropriate touch of a boy, ages 14-16, decades prior in Firebaugh. Two more men alleged abuse as minors by Harrison, who filed a slander lawsuit against the Roman Catholic Faithful and the diocese.
Herdegen	Anthony G.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Settled	Monsignor Herdegen was sued for abuse of two brothers, ages 5-19 and 10-15, starting in 1959. The lawsuit was dismissed on the statute of limitations, and Herdegen’s name was included on the Fresno diocese’s list of credibly accused in 8/21.

Mangan	Michael J.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Monsignor. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Fresno diocese in 2021.
McGrath	Patrick J.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Indicted	Monsignor. Ordained in 1906 for what was then the Diocese of Monterey and Los Angeles. Died in 1943. Included in 2021 on the Diocese of Fresno’s list of credibly accused.
Merola	Pascal	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Merola was ordained for the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno, but his faculties were suspended in 1934. He later joined the Benedictine order.
Moreno	Anthony	Diocese of Fresno CA	Settled	Accused of sexually abusing a girl, age 12, in 1979-80 at St. Philip the Apostle in Bakersfield. Moreno was placed on leave in 1981 and stopped serving as a priest in 1995.
Nacauili	John Naldoza	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Ordained for the Archdiocese of Jaro, Philippines, returned to the Philippines in 1991, and died in 1998.
Nicholson	Walter	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Ordained in 1926 for the Diocese of Ossory, Ireland. Incardinated the same year into the Diocese of Cheyenne. Worked as an extern priest in the Diocese of Fresno 1944-47. Died in 1947.
O’Connell	Vincent A.	Diocese of Fresno CA	Sued	O’Connell was from Ireland, worked in Nigeria, and was assigned to St. Anthony of Padua in Fresno in 1970. He was accused of manually raping a 16-year-old girl, and was living in Ireland in 2013.
Solvyns	Bernardine	Diocese of Fresno CA	Accused	Ordained in Belgium. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Fresno diocese on its list in 8/21. Noted to have been pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in California City1969-1985.

Battagliola	Orlando Alberto	Diocese of Monterey CA	Sued	Battagliola arrived in the Monterey-Fresno diocese in 1963 and was found murdered in a San Francisco motel room in 2/77. He was included on the Monterey diocese’s 1/2/19 list of credibly accused.
Campbell	Stuart Bede	Diocese of Monterey CA	Sued	A case filed in Fresno County in 2003 or 2004 accused Campbell of abuse 1956-1959, before the Diocese of Monterey was created. He was included on several lists of credibly accused priests, including the Fresno diocese’s list in 2021.

Kareta	Gregory	Diocese of Monterey CA	Sued	Kareta was accused of abuse of an 11-year-old boy in 1973-1974, but the charges were dismissed due to a Supreme Court ruling regarding statutes of limitations. He also admitted abusing a youth in the 1960s in WI.
McCarthy	Scott	Diocese of Monterey CA	Reinstated	McCarthy was reported for abuse in 1976, retired, had his faculties removed, appealed to the Vatican, and was removed from the diocese’s list of credibly accused in 2021.

Watt	Joseph R.	Diocese of Monterey CA	Sued	Fr. Joseph R. Watt was assigned to the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno in 1965. Watt was accused of sexually abusing an altar boy in the mid-1970s. Watt and Marini were accused of plying a man with drugs to get him to engage in sex acts. Both men left the parish in 1985.
Wisecaver	James	Diocese of Monterey CA	Accused	Professed perpetual vows in 1967 and taught math and science at high schools, universities and colleges. He was named publicly as accused in 1997 of abuse.
Cabral	Kenneth J.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Accused of abuse at St. Catherine of Siena in Martinez 1964-65. Absent on sick leave 1987-91. Removed from ministry/retired 6/30/91. Named publicly in 2004 at one of the diocese’s apology services. Died 3/3/96. On diocese’s list in 2019.
Colloty	Philip	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list 5/31/2019. It notes sexual abuse of a minor in 1955, reported in 2010. Colloty died in 1976. Included on the Oakland diocese’s list 6/1/2019.
McConnell	Mary Rosella	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Accused in a lawsuit sometime between 2020-2022 of sexually abusing a girl, ages 15-16, from September 1969 to June 1971. McConnell was vice-principal of Presentation High School in Berkeley 1967 through 1979. The girl was a student.
Acebo	Jeffrey N.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Acebo confessed to Bishop Cummins in 1986 that he had molested a 16-year-old girl. He was sent for treatment and reassigned, and given a life of prayer and penance.
Begin	Floyd	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Begin was accused of sexually abusing a girl, age 12, in 1968. He died in 1977.
Binh-Minh	Thomas Duong	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list in 2019. It notes abuse in 1987. Removed from ministry in 4/02.
Breen	Vincent Ignatius	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	At age 70, Breen was forced to retire, seek treatment, and leave area to avoid prosecution for fondling eight girls over a 1 1/2 year period. There may have been as many as 100 victims, 1950s-1980s.
Broderson	Donald Eugene	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Broderson was accused of molesting an altar boy many times in the 1970s. He was forced into retirement in 1991 and officially retired later.
Castillo	Alexander Q.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	From Costa Rica, Castillo arrived in the U.S. in 2008 and was assigned to parishes in Oakley and Fremont. He was placed on leave during an investigation of sexual misconduct toward a minor, and fled the country.
Chavez	Ricardo	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	In late 2020, Rev. Michael Chavez was settled for $3.5M for sexually abusing an altar boy at St. Peter Martyr in Pittsburg CA. The plaintiff’s attorney said that Chavez had been accused of molesting minors in the 1990s.
Clark	James A.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Arrested and convicted in 1963 of oral copulation with a 19-year-old man, Clark was transferred to Corpus Christi parish in Fremont in 1965 and allegedly abused “numerous” children.
Cooper	Hilary	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Oakland diocese on its list in 2019, he was removed from ministry in 1995 and given a life of prayer and penance.

Crespin	George E.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Crespin was accused of molesting a boy in 1975 while pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary in Union City. He denied all charges, and the Diocese paid plaintiff $600K as part of a global settlement in 2005.
Custodio	Sidney J.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Alleged in a lawsuit to have abused a girl at St. Gregory parish in San Mateo 1960-63. Last known address was in Menlo Park.
Donovan	Pearse P.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Donovan was accused in 2003 of molesting a boy beginning in 1978 at St. Clement and of passing him on to an abusive Holy Cross brother, Lawrence O’Brien.
Eagleson	Donald W.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Accused of abuse in 1971 when he was a Holy Cross brother teaching at Moreau High School in Hayward. Suspended in 2002 and partially settled a 2004 civil suit in 2005.
Ferreira	Joseph A.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	A woman filed a lawsuit against Ferreira in 2006, claiming she was molested by him in 1973 and 1974. She also claimed he stalked and harassed her throughout the years.
Finnegan	Patrick	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Oakland diocese on its list in 2019. It notes abuse in the 1960s and 1973. Removed from ministry 2/6/73. Died 9/28/80.
Freitas	Robert E.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Convicted	After two boys alleged sex abuse, Freitas was sent to treatment and placed on “restricted ministry”. A man told the diocese that Freitas molested him in 1979, and Freitas admitted abuse and was arrested.
Francis	George J.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Francis was accused of raping a 7-year-old girl in 1959. A woman who claimed that Francis abused her from 1979-1982 filed a lawsuit in 2002; the diocese admitted abuse and that there were other victims.
Furman	Adrian	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Franciscan priest named publicly as accused of sexual abuse of minors. Furman died in 2003.
Garcia	John G.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	A 34-year-old man claimed that Garcia sexually abused him over two years, beginning when he was an 8-year-old altar boy in the late 1990s. Garcia was accused of raping a boy, age 12, in the late 1960s.

Hofstee	A. Leo	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly by the Dominicans Holy Name Province on its list in 10/2021, Hofstee worked in the Philippines among lepers from 1945 until his death in 1986.
Jaques	Domingos S.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	A priest from India was accused of child sexual abuse and died in 2016.
Kiesle	Stephen M.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Convicted	Kiesle was convicted of lewd conduct in 1978 and sentenced to three years probation. He was arrested in 2002 on 13 counts of child molestation and sentenced to six years in prison for abuse of a girl in 1995. Accused of abuse of a girl, ages 11-13, and a boy, age 10-11, in the 1970s. Kiesle was accused of abuse of a girl and a boy in Pinole, 1972-1975. The victim’s adult children filed a lawsuit against the diocese.
LaGasse	Ronald J.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Arrested	Arrested in 1984 on suspicion of molesting a 17-year-old boy. Placed on leave for a year, then reassigned, and excommunicated in 2008.
Lanuevo	Tarcisio D.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	The parents of two girls, ages 7 and 2, filed a civil suit against Lanuevo, claiming that their pastor had promised them that he would receive treatment and never be around children if they dropped the criminal charges.
Leehan	Cornelius P.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Cornelius Patrick Leehan was accused of raping a 5-year-old boy at St. Alphonsus Liguori in San Leandro in the late 1950s-early 1960s. He was also accused of fondling the boy 7 years later, after he was reassigned to the parish.
Lopez	Macias	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Holy Name Province Dominicans on its list in 10/21. Noted to have made profession of religious vows in 1981 and to have been removed and dismissed from the Order in 1988.
Luiz	Gary M.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Accused of abusing a boy at St. Edward’s in Newark, NJ, Luiz earned a canon law degree from Catholic University in DC in 1993, and was sent to a Berkeley, CA monastery by 1995.
McCracken	John T.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Parish priest and pastor, Catholic Social Services/Charities director, accused of raping a boy during 1972-1974. Three more people have filed suit with claims they were sexually abused as children by McCracken.
McGinty	Michael J.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Monsignor. Accused in a 2022 lawsuit of sexually and physically abusing a boy, age 8 or 9, decades prior. McGinty died in 1996.
McKinnon	Bede	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Franciscan friar named publicly as accused by Santa Barbara Province, died in 1998, and was assigned to St. Elizabeth’s in Oakland.
McLeod	Daniel	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Oakland diocese on its list in 2019. Incardinated into the diocese 4/16/70. Abuse noted to have occurred in 1969. Removed from ministry/retired 1/18/87. Died 12/17/01.
Vela	Hector David Mendoza	Diocese of Oakland CA	Convicted	A priest from El Salvador was arrested and accused of sexually abusing a boy over 18 months in 2016-17. He was sentenced to 4 years, 8 months in prison and included on the diocese’s list of credibly accused.
Mockel	George E.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Accused of sexually abusing a teenage altar server, but a former federal prosecutor found the allegations not credible.
Moreno	Joaquin	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	A Franciscan friar was named publicly as accused in 1996 of sexually abusing a minor. He was laicized in 2010.
O’Brien	Lawrence	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Accused in a 2003 civil suit. Abuse was said to have occurred in the 1970s and 1980s, of at least one youth, at Hayward’s Moreau High School. O’Brien is deceased.
Odom-Green	William	Diocese of Oakland CA	Convicted	Convicted of abusing in the Oakland diocese, named publicly as accused by the Owensboro diocese.
Ponciroli	Robert F.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Arrested	Ponciroli was removed from ministry 2/9/95 and sent to therapy due to an allegation. He was arrested 2/03 for abuse of two brothers and laicized in 2005.
Prieto	Jesus Garcia	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Monsignor. Accused in a 2022 lawsuit of sexually assaulting an elementary school student in Oakland repeatedly in the 1960s. Prieto allegedly plied the boy with wine and pornographic magazines.
Prindeville	James E.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Prindeville left the priesthood at some point after 1961 and married. He was accused of molesting a 16-year-old girl in 1952-53.
Reams	Benedict	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Joseph Ambrose Reams was a De Las Salle Christian Brother who taught at Mont La Salle and St. Mary’s College. He was accused of sexual abuse of minors in a lawsuit filed sometime between 2020-2022.
Ribeiro	Arthur A.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Ribeiro was removed from ministry/retired in 1992, confronted in 1996 by two priests about his sexual misconduct, and died in 2000. Three men filed suit in 2003.
Slane	Anthony P.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Named in a lawsuit as having abused at St. Alphonsus Ligorui in San Leandro, CA, and also worked in the Seattle archdiocese, including 1981-1988 at Our Lady of Good Help and Sacred Heart in Seattle.
Tollner	Gary B.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Tollner’s sister accused him of molesting his special needs nephew, and parishioners spoke of “suspicious behavior” involving young boys, alcohol and drugs in the hot tub Tollner had installed on the rectory roof. He was removed from ministry in 1995.
Varela	Ramon	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	Varela was named publicly as accused by the Franciscans’ Santa Barbara Province on 5/31/2019, and was included on the lists of the Oakland diocese, Stockton diocese, and Fresno diocese.
Vas	John	Diocese of Oakland CA	Accused	A woman accused Vas of molesting her for nearly seven years, beginning in the 1960s, when she was seven.
Verngren	Francis	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	A man filed suit against Verngren in 2003, alleging abuse by Verngren 1966-70, when Verngren was principal and head dorm resident at a Catholic school in Berkeley. The suit settled in 2003.
Wilcox	Gordon	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	Wilcox was named in a 2004 suit against Rev. Donald Eagleson, which was partially settled in 2005. He was also named as an abuser of a male student in 1971 at Moreau High School in Hayward.
Whelan	Stephen	Diocese of Oakland CA	Settled	A man alleges abuse by Whelan when he was a student at Salesian High School in 1969-early 1970s. A civil suit was filed in 2003, and the jury awarded the plaintiff $600K. Whelan was removed from ministry in 2008.
Wong	Terrence D.	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	Marianist brother accused of abuse at St. Joseph High School in Alameda.
Young	Larry	Diocese of Oakland CA	Sued	A boy, age 6-7, was accused of being sexually abused by Young. Young stated that the allegations were “absolutely false”.
Andersen	Andrew Christian	Diocese of Orange CA	Convicted	Convicted of 26 counts of felony molestation of four boys, sentenced to five years probation, arrested in New Mexico, sentenced to six years prison, laicized.
Aranda	Sofronio A.	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Aranda was born in the Philippines, worked in Corona for five years, and was named by the diocese in 2004 as one of six priests accused of sexual abuse of minors.
Atherton	Gregory	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Sued in 1993, accused of abuse of three boys. Also accused of abuse in the Diocese of Orange, but settled in 2005 for $4,169,325 and was not included on its list of accused priests.
Baird	Lawrence J.	Diocese of Orange CA	Accused	Monsignor Baird was accused of abusing a girl who came to him for advice after being abused by Rev. John Lenihan.
Buckman	Franklin	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Accused of abuse between 1962 and 1981. Resigned from parish in 1984 because of abuse allegation, transferred to Diocese of Baker, OR, removed from ministry at some point, settled in 2005 for $1,959,700.
Casimano	Santino Anthony	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Accused of abuse of two brothers while in the Diocese of Orange, and paid $4.2M in a 2005 settlement. Died in 2005.
Delahunty	Richard	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Delahunty was placed on leave pending investigation of allegation that he sexually molested a boy in 1981. Civil suit filed, settled in 2005, Delahunty retired in 2016.
Falvey	Sinon F.	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Pastor of St. Norbert Church in Orange, died 2/7/05 at age 85, named as abuser in civil suit file 6/25/09.
Fitzpatrick	Kevin M.	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Fitzpatrick was accused of sexually abusing a boy from 1976 to 1992. Four more former students filed claims of abuse against Fitzpatrick in 9/22, and three more filed several months later.
Foley	Robert C.	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	In 1985, the then-chancellor of the Orange diocese, Michael Driscoll, begged a priest in Liverpool, England to take Foley, who had just admitted to molesting an 8-year-old boy. Foley never faced prosecution for the molestation.
Harris	Michael A.	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	The mother of one youth who died of AIDS made allegations against Harris to the diocese, and a third accuser settled for $5.2M in 2001. Several other victims filed suits in 2003.
Horvath	Bertrand W.	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Accused of abuse of an altar boy in the early 1970s, Horvath’s order sued the L.A. archdiocese in 2002, and he was placed on leave and retired in 2001.
Jimenez	Edgardo Arrunataegui	Diocese of Orange CA	Accused	Jimenez was ordained in Peru, worked in Honduras, and the Diocese of Orange CA. He left Orange in the early 1990s to perform “missionary work” in Peru, but was found in 2017 working as a hospital chaplain in Chimbote, Peru.
Knoernschild	John (Gregory)	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Knoernschild was accused by a former Crespi Carmelite High School student of sexually abusing him in 1977-1978. He was included in a $10M settlement with the Order and L.A. Archdiocese in 10/2006.
Lenihan	John Peter	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	From Ireland, Lenihan was accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl in the 1970s, but the charges were dropped due to a Supreme Court ruling on statutes of limitation. He is suspected of fleeing to Mexico after allegations were made in the U.S.
Lord	John	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Lord was named by the Diocese of Orange as one of six priests accused in 2003 of the sexual abuse of minors. He died from complications of AIDS in 2/89 at age 46.
Manville	Alexander	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	A man filed suit against Manville and Krumm, alleging abuse at age 8. The case was settled out of court, but the order didn’t.
Mohan	Thomas Joseph	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Monsignor Mohan was first accused publicly in a lawsuit filed 10/2/2018 by a man who said Mohan sexually abused him as a child over a two-year period, beginning in 1978. Mohan died in 2002.
Nguyen	Dominic	Diocese of Orange CA	Accused	Nguyen was sent from the Diocese of Orange to Idaho in 2002 after an ‘affair’ with a woman, and was returned to Orange in 2003 after a repairman found child porn on his computer.
Pillon	Gordon John	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	In 2006, the Peoria diocese placed Pillon on leave after learning of allegations of sexual misconduct dating back to the early 1980s. In 2009, a former priest filed suit alleging abuse by Pillon when he was a teenager in CA.
Poettgen	Edward	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Poettgen was accused of molesting a boy, age 6, while assigned to a St. Polycarp in Stanton in 1994. He was placed on administrative leave at some point before 1/29/20.
Ramirez	Luis Eduardo	Diocese of Orange CA	Convicted	Arrested in 2008, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and burglary and was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation.
Ramaekers	Timothy	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	The diocese notified parishioners that a man had recently alleged that Ramaekers had abused him as a minor. The review board found no credible evidence to support the allegation, and Ramaekers was kept in ministry.
Ruhl	John Edward	Diocese of Orange CA	Settled	Ruhl was a priest for the Vincentians, and was accused of abuse of at least three minors from 1970-1982. He died in 2018, and is included on the Springfield-Cape Girardeau diocese’s list updated 4/1/2019.
Salazar	Cesar	Diocese of Orange CA	Accused	Salazar was placed on leave while the diocese investigated charges that he downloaded child pornography. The FBI also investigated.
Sheahan	John A.	Diocese of Orange CA	Sued	Sheahan was accused of abuse of four children from 1961 to 1965, and of medical retirement in 2003.
Tanilong	Gerardo Jarencio	Diocese of Orange CA	Convicted	Monsignor Tanilong was arrested after a 15-year-old girl complained that he had molested her earlier in the week. He was placed on leave and was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation.
Prouix	Michael	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Named publicly as accused by the Diocese of Sacramento on its list 4/30/19. Allegation received in 2011 of rape of a boy under age 14 in the 1950s. Prouix was assigned to Sacred Heart in Alturas 1945-59.
Allender	Thomas G.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	A priest was named publicly as accused by the Diocese of Sacramento on its list 4/30/2019. He was removed from ministry and living under a safety plan.
Arroyo	Alejandro	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Deacon named publicly as accused by the diocese of abuse of girls under 14, occurring 1977-83. Removed from ministry and faculties withdrawn in 2012.
Rico	Gerardo Beltran	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Indicted	Rico was arrested in Mexico in 2008 for alleged abuse of young girls, but was released before extradition. New allegations surfaced in 2019 and 2020 that he sexually abused boys under age 18 and 14.
Boyle	Edward	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Sued	A woman filed a suit in 2002 against the Sacramento diocese after being molested by Boyle in 1967.
Brady	Vincent	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	Brady, who was ordained for Sacramento, was accused of sexually abusing girls in the 1970s. He was sent for therapy, reassigned, and retired.
Casey	James	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Ireland. Ordained for Sacramento. Retired 1974. Died in 1992. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 4/30/19. Allegation to docese in 2011 of abuse of a boy in the 1950s.
Casper	Robert	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Berthold Rudolph Caper was publicly accused by the Sacramento diocese of abuse of a boy in 1962.

Gonzales	Hector Coria	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Guilty plea	Approximately 42 when ordained in 1/2011. Arrested on charges of statutory rape and oral copulation of a 16-year-old, girl beginning in 2013, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, three years probation and sexual offender counseling.
Crowley	John	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Ireland. Ordained for Sacramento. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 5/22/19. Allegation in 1988 of abuse, possibly between 1965 and 1985, of a girl under age 14. Faculties removed in 1988.
Delgado	Rodolfo	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Sued	A priest was accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy, and was permanently removed from ministry in 2006. He was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance by the Holy See.
Dermody	Thomas	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Dermody was accused of abusing minors in the Sacramento diocese, and retired in 2002.
Dermody	Michael	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	Accused of ‘affairs’ with three women he counseled, Dermody won $1.4 million judgment against him in 1992, but not against Diocese, and $3 million judgment against him in 1993, but was dismissed from insurance policy.
Dowling	John W.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Dowling was ordained for the Diocese of Savannah-Atlanta, worked in the Sacramento diocese 1947-1981, and was dismissed after a report of child pornography. He was accused of abuse of boys under age 14 in 1954-1981, and was included on the Atlanta archdiocese’s list of credibly accused in 2019 and 2020.
Falvey	Arthur A.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	The Jesuits settled with a man in 2009 who alleged that Arthur Falvey raped him repeatedly over a four-year period. Arthur Falvey was the brother of Fr. Mark Falvey who abused at least 10 children in CA and was the subject of a 2007 settlement by the Jesuits.
Feeser	William	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Feeser was accused of sex abuse of a girl at Our Lady of Assumption in Carmichael in 2010 and 2016 and of abuse of a boy at Our Lady of Assumption between 1977 and 1978.
Figueroa	Oscar	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Mexico, Figueroa was ordained for the Sacramento diocese in 2008, but had his faculties removed in 2009 after an allegation of sexual misconduct with a young adult male.
Foley	James Patrick	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Foley was named publicly as accused on San Diego diocese’s 9/18 list. He was suspended in 7/10, removed in 8/15, and was listed on the Santa Rosa diocese’s list 1/12/19, the Sacramento diocese’s list 4/30/19, and the Oakland diocese’s list in 2019
Ortiz	Francisco Javier Garcia	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	Garcia was ordained in Mexico and incardinated into the Diocese of Sacramento in 1989. He fled to Mexico in 1995 after a dozen felony molestation charges were filed against him in Yolo and Colusa counties in CA.
Hall	Sidney P.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Sued	Hall was accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl in 1966, and was asked to step down as pastor from St. Peter’s in 2002 due to concerns about his health. He died in 2016.
Hannan	John	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Ireland. Ordained for the Diocese of Sacramento. Retired in 2004. Allegation to the diocese in 2011 of abuse of a minor female in 1977. Faculties withdrawn. Died in 2017.
Henson	Jerome M.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	In 1981, he was caught in a graveyard at night with a 13-year-old boy in Sacramento. He was sent to Reno under Bishop McFarland, who sent him to Orange in 1984.
Cota	David Hernandez	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	He was ordained for the Diocese of Sacramento CA, but excardinated and incardinated into the Diocese of Nuevo Casas, Mexico.
Hernandez-Tovar	Francisco	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	A man had alleged that Hernandez molested him 1986-1987 at age 13, while Hernandez was assigned to Our Lady of Lourdes in Colusa.

Jaramillo	Roberto L.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Jaramillo was accused of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 14 from 1996 to 1999, and of kissing a boy in 1999. The Diocese and law enforcement determined that there was insufficient evidence, and Jaramillo denied the abuse.
Klingenbrunner	Gunter	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	The Jesuits West Province named him publicly as accused of sexual abuse of a minor in 1981-1984.
Kristy	Mark	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Convicted	Kristy was trained as a psychotherapist and assigned to parishes in Tucson AZ and Los Angeles CA. He was accused of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 14 from 2001 through 2004.
O’Halloran	Louis Michael	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	O’Halloran was named publicly as accused by the Diocese of Sacramento in 5/19 and was removed from public ministry in 2004.

Marsicek	Robert	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Convicted	Assigned to St. Pius X parish in Wauwatosa WI in 2001, removed 3/28/13 when a teacher reported questionable behavior with a student at school, charged with felony child sexual assault in 2017, sentenced 12/17 to 1 year in House of Corrections.
Mennis	James Finbarr	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Mennis was accused of abuse of a girl in 1967-69 and became a Navy chaplain for thirty years.
Mistretta	Vito	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Monsignor. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 4/30/19, and died 10/13/09, after allegations of abuse of a boy in 1984.
Monaghan	James Thomas	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Convicted	A Jesuit priest was convicted in 1992 of fondling a girl, age 7, while pastor of St. Ignatius in Sacramento. He was sentenced to 5 years probation and 120 hours community service, and died in 2004 at age 89.
Moreno	Jorge	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	A priest from Mexico was placed on leave after an allegation of sexual abuse. He fled to Mexico while criminal charges were pending and died in 2014.
O’Connor	Cornelius F.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	A lawsuit was filed in the early 2020s alleging abuse by O’Connor of an 8-year-old boy at Our Lady of the Assumption in Carmichael beginning in 1987 when the boy was age 8.
Onorato	Charles A.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	Jesuit brother, named publicly as accused by the Jesuits West Province on its list 12/7/2018, was removed from ministry in 2003 and sent to live under a safety plan.
Ojeda	Uriel	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Convicted	Ojeda was born in the U.S., raised in Mexico, and attended seminary in Oregon 1998-2007. He was arrested on two counts of felony lewd and lascivious acts with a teen girl 2007-2009, and sentenced to eight years in prison.
Perez	Z. Enrique	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Colombia, Oratorian, named publicly as accused by the Sacramento diocese on its list 4/30/19. Retired in 2003, returned to his Order.

Pinal	Jose Antonio	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Sued	Costellano Jose Pinal, aka Antonio Pinal, was accused in 1989 of twice sodomizing a 14-year-old boy and fondling the boy on a trip to Mexico. He was incardinated into Cuernavaca diocese in 1991 and worked there for decades.
Blanco	Mario Porras	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	Originally from Costa Rica, Blanco was removed from ministry in the Diocese of Sacramento in 1973. At least 17 men have accused him of sexual abuse, and a civil trial was set for 7/05, but 16 cases settled just prior to trial.
Storan	William	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	From Ireland. Ordained for Sacramento. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 4/30/19. Allegation to diocese in 2001 of abuse of a female between age 18 and 25 in 1974. Faculties retired/faculties withdrawn in 2001.

Urbina	Jose Luis	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Convicted	From Mexico, ordained for Sacramento, pled guilty 1989 to committing lewd acts with a child under 14, fled to Mexico before sentencing, and was found working as a priest in 2005.
Wallace	Murrough	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Sued	Wallace was accused of sexually abusing a boy, age 10, in 1965, at Holy Angels church and school in Yuba City, CA. He was reportedly deceased at the time of the filing.
Walsh	Michael G.	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Settled	Walsh was placed on leave in April 2002 after allegations of sexual abuse surfaced.
Watts	John	Diocese of Sacramento CA	Accused	The Diocese of Sacramento named him on its list of accused priests on 4/30/19. He worked at Christ the King Retreat Center.
Ayala	Saul	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Settled	Ayala was placed on leave after an allegation of sexual harassment and misconduct involving a minor was filed. Two sisters filed suit alleging he abused them at ages 7 and 9 in 1988 and 1989 when he baby-sat them.
Barco	Roberto A.	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Accused of child sex abuse in 2009-10. Removed from San Bernardino diocese list 10/9/18.
Ball	Edward Lawrence	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Convicted	In 1992, he was indicted on four counts of abuse of a minor. In 1999, he was charged with 31 counts of abuse of two other boys.
Bell	Joseph C.	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	The San Bernardino diocese was first aware of allegations in 1985 and named a priest as accused in October of that year.
Benson	Gustavo	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Convicted	Benson Sotomayor was accused of sexually abusing at least three boys in the 1970s and 1980s. He was transferred to the Diocese of Tijuana, México in 1987 and remained an active priest in St. San Judas Ta Deo Church, Ensenada, México.
Bucaro	Michael	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Settled	A man sued Bucaro in 2004 alleging he was abused by Bucaro at St. Matthew’s Church in Corona and in San Diego in the 1980s. The suit settled in 2008.
Castillo	Alejandro Jose	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Guilty plea	From Mexico City, ordained in 1981 for the Society of the Divine Word, assigned in Los Angeles, CA. Donat	Robert J.	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Donat worked in San Diego Diocese 1966-69 and 1969-93. He was pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in Montclair until 2006 and was sentenced by Vatican to Prayer and Penance.
Dominguez	Jesus A.	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Guilty plea	Jesse, a priest from Chihuahua, Mexico, was charged with abusing two boys in 1988-1989, but fled to Mexico before he could be arrested. Six men filed civil suits.
Dunne	Kevin	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Dunne was one of several religious accused in 1993 of abuse of students at St. Anthony Seminary. He was living with his Order at St. Mary’s Basilica in Phoenix, serving as their treasurer, doing housework and without contact with children.

Garduno	Anthony Martinez	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Convicted	Garduno was accused of asking an adult man to strip during premarital counseling, was removed from the clerical state, and was sentenced to 2 years prison on drug and gun charges.
Gil	Rudi	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Gil arrived in the San Bernardino diocese from Canada in 1987, was accused of sexual misconduct in 1993, was treated at a facility run by Servants of Paraclete for “sexual identity issues”, and was removed from the priesthood in 2002.
Macouzet	Maximiliano Gomez	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Settled	Monsignor from Mexico, ordained in 1946, graduated from Rome in 1948, and left the San Bernardino diocese in 1966. He was sued for assault and battery in 1966 and awarded $35K.
Hayes	J. Ernest	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	First named publicly as accused on the diocese’s list 10/9/18. It notes diocese aware in 6/87 of alleged abuse 1978-83, 1981 and 1987. Hayes died in 1990.
Jablonski	Joseph	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Jablonski was first named publicly as accused on the San Bernardino Diocese’s list 10/9/2018. He was added to the Rockford IL Diocese’s list in 10/2020 and to Joliet’s list 2/2021.
Jost	Dennis Raymond	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Convicted	Raised in the San Angelo TX diocese, spent years in CA training to be a deacon, was removed from the program, and convicted of child abuse in 1992. Worked in the Dallas diocese until his past was uncovered.
Keppel	Timothy F.	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Keppel was removed from the Order after it received an allegation of sexual misconduct involving a teenage boy in the San Bernardino Diocese in the late 1970s. He was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance in 2012 by the Vatican.
Kurilec	Robert	Diocese of San Bernardino CA	Accused	Kurilec was first named publicly as accused on the Diocese of San Bernardino’s list 10/9/2018. He was sentenced by Vatican to Prayer and Penance and died in FL in 9/2019.

Kurlandski	Lawrence	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	Accused by a woman in a 2003 lawsuit of molesting her at St. Joseph’s in Fontana 1947-1949. Kurlandski died in 1990. Included on the Resurrectionists’ list of credibly accused 10/27/2021. Named in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report.

Daly	John Joseph	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	Daly was accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy at St. Joseph’s in Holtville in 1977. The case was dropped after the bishop visited the D.A. Diocese moved Daly out of the area and the civil suit was filed in 2002.
Damasco	Nelson C.	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	Damasco was a priest of the Nueva Segovia diocese in the Philippines, and was listed on 3/30/07 as credibly accused. He was reportedly stationed at Fort Hood in the Austin TX diocese.
Francisco	Luis Eugene de	Diocese of San Diego CA	Arrested	A priest from Colombia was accused of abusing children of migrant workers and was told to leave the US and never return. He was removed from ministry in 1960 and believed to have died in the early 1990s.

Keith	John Charles	Diocese of San Diego CA	Settled	Keith was accused of molesting a 12-year-old boy in 1985. The case was settled in 1999 for $95K, and he admitted to being a recovering alcoholic.

Lally	George	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	A boy reported abuse by Lally to the church’s pastor, and Lally was transferred and paid college costs for the boy. He left the priesthood in 1979, married a former nun, and was living in California.
Langille	Justin	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	In 2002, Langille passed a polygraph test and was unassigned from the diocese, but in 2018 the Review Board found “significant new information” that led to his removal.
MacCourt	Michael M.	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	MacCourt was ordained in Northern Ireland and sent to the U.S. where he worked at St Columban’s in NE 1923-24 and St Columban’s in Silver Creek NY 1924-30. He died in 1977.

McNamara	Patrick Carl	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	Received a law degree prior to ordination, took a sabbatical in 1993, left the priesthood in 1994, and later married.
Medaer	Mark A.	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	Monsignor Medaer was named publicly as accused on San Diego diocese’s 9/18 list and was accused of molesting a boy in 1982 while pastor of Our Lady of Guadelupe in Calexico.

Moloney	Thomas	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	Monsignor Moloney was ordained for the San Diego diocese, but spent first years after ordination working in England. A man filed a civil suit against the diocese, and Moloney died in 1986.
Montagna	Paolino	Diocese of San Diego CA	Accused	Montagna was accused of molesting two girls in the San Diego diocese, but is thought to be deceased.
Neri	Ephren Cirilio	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	From Mexico, Ephrem Neri was accused of raping a girl aged 7 while he was assigned to Christ the King parish in San Bernardino. He was also accused of fathering a child, which he denied.
Nikliborc	Robert Daniel	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	Accused of abuse of an 11-year-old boy at Boys Town of the Desert, sued in 2005, and was convicted of tax evasion in 1968. He was redirected to St. Anne’s in San Diego in 1971 and retired in 2001.
O’Connor	Michael	Diocese of San Diego CA	Settled	From Ireland, ordained in Ireland for the Diocese of Los Angeles and San Diego. Died 10/31/65.

Uboldi	Victor	Diocese of San Diego CA	Sued	A woman filed suit in 1992 against Uboldi for abuse when she was 12-17. At least one other victim came forward.
Valverde	William	Diocese of San Diego CA	Settled	In the mid-1970s, Valverde exposed two men to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and deviant sex. He was named in a civil suit, but the two plaintiffs were NOT included in the 2007 San Diego settlement.

Bettencourt	Thomas	Diocese of San Jose CA	Sued	Bettencourt was named publicly as accused on the diocese’s 10/18/18 list, and died of AIDS 2/25/90. A man filed a lawsuit in 2021.
Burke	Edward Thomas	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	Burke admitted to his Jesuit superior that he sexually abused a dependent adult man living/working at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, and was sentenced to two years in prison at age 80.
Connor	Charles Leonard	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	Connor admitted to inappropriate touching of two intellectually disabled adult men at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, and was sent to live at the all-boys Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose. The victims received a $7.5M settlement. Connor was returned to Sacred Heart Jesuit Center after being accused of abusing Jesuit Fr. James Chevedden in 1998. The complaint was deemed unproven by Jesuit Provincial Fr. Tom Smolich. Chevedden died in 2004 after falling from a courthouse parking garage. His family received $1.6M from the Jesuits.
Dondero	L. Joseph	Diocese of San Jose CA	Accused	Dondero was first named publicly as accused in 2002, and was included on the Jesuits West Province’s list in 2018 for sexual abuse of a minor.
Farrington	William C.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Sued	After allegations of abuse at Jesuit High and Loyola Marymount University, Farrington was sent to live under supervision at the Sacred Heart Retreat Center in Los Gatos. A lawsuit was filed in 2020 claiming abuse in the 1960s of a Bellarmine Prep student.
Flickinger	Don D.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Settled	A 13-year-old boy and a woman sued the church for sexual abuse. The church authorities were aware of the abuse, and settled the cases in 2013. In 10/2018, Flickinger was a priest of the Fresno diocese. In 1/12/2019, he was listed as credibly accused in Santa Rosa.
Gray	Robert A.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	Convicted of sexually abusing a teenage boy while teaching him karate, given 5 years probation, removed as head of cemeteries department, and placed on permanent leave.
Harrison	Arthur	Diocese of San Jose CA	Settled	In 2003, he was charged with sex abuse of a 10-year-old girl in 1961. In 1988, he was accused of molesting two San Jose girls, but was not charged.
Largente	Laurent	Diocese of San Jose CA	Accused	Largente was first named publicly as accused in 1994 of sexual misconduct with a child.
Larkin	Alexander C.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Settled	Larkin was placed on leave in 12/04 after allegations that he had abused two youths between 1975 and 1980 at Our Lady of the Rosary in Palo Alto. No criminal charges filed.
Mariano	Angel Crisostomo	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	Mariano was a cross-dresser who was convicted of child molestation in 1998. He was reprimanded by Jesuit leaders at least 5 years prior to the 1998 incident and permanently banned from ministry.
Moniz	John Rodrigues	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	In 1995 Moniz was convicted of lewd conduct with a young girl and sentenced to three years probation. He later moved to Vianney Renewal Center in Dittmer, MO and died in 2008.
Moss	George	Diocese of San Jose CA	Accused	Moss was accused of sexual misconduct with children while assigned to St. Joseph’s in Mountain View 1963-76. He retired in 1976 and died in 1986.
Noia	Leonel C.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Convicted	Noia was accused of showing pornography to boys and rubbing their genitals during a camping trip. He was sentenced to jail for six months, five years probation and psych treatment, and was permanently banned from ministry in 2002.
Nu’uanu	Joseph P.	Diocese of San Jose CA	Accused	Professed vows in 1956 as a Marianist brother, Province of the Pacific. Worked in CA and HI. Died 1/23/13. Included on the Order’s 6/24/20 list of those “found to have sexually abused a minor.”

Bolger	Anthony	Diocese of Santa Rosa CA	Sued	Bishop Ferrario was accused of abusing a boy at St. Anthony’s in Kailua, HI, and was allowed to retire for ‘medical’ reasons in 2002. He died in 2015, and was listed on the Santa Rosa diocese’s list in 2019.
